Q. What does Samhain mean?

A. It’s a festival held at the end of the harvest season in Gaelic cultures. The festival has aspects of a Festival of the Dead, and many scholars believe that it was the beginning of the Celtic year. The term “Samhain” derives from the name of a month in the ancient Celtic calendar “November”. Particular the first three nights of this month, with the festival marking the end of the summer season and the end of the harvest. The Gaelic festival became associated with the Catholic All Souls’ Day, and has influenced the secular customs now connected with Halloween. Samhain is also the name of a modern festival in various currents of Neopaganism that are based on, or inspired by, Gaelic traditions.

Q. How do you properly pronounce Samhain?

A. My lenses are Hand Painted by me with over 20 years experience in the industry.

Q. Do I need an Rx even if I have perfect vision?

A. Yes, I must verify your Rx before I can ship to you even if you have perfect vision (Plano).

Q. I don’t normally wear contact lenses. Can I wear these lenses?

A. Yes, as long as you see an eye care professional first and obtain a valid prescription. When you place your order, you can take a picture or scan your Rx to me at samhaincontactlenses@gmail.com. Then I can verify your Rx through your eye care professional. (typically 24 hrs.)

Q. How do I know what the measurements of my eyes are?

A. The only way to get the actual measurement of your eyes would be to have an eye exam by your eye care professional. This is always recommended before wearing any contact lenses.

Q. How old do I have to be to purchase contacts?

A. You must be 18 years of age or have your parent or guardian make the purchase.

Q. How long after I place my order will the lenses ship?

A.  It takes me approximately 4-6 weeks to complete an order before shipping. Keep in mind that all of my lenses are custom hand painted, and are made to order. You will be e-mailed a tracking number once your order ships.

Q. How long will custom theatrical contact lenses last?

A. My lenses can last up to many years, depending on how often they are worn and how well you care for them.

Q. What lens solution should I use to clean my theatrical contact lenses with?

A. I suggest using Bausch+Lomb BioTrue for your contact lens care

Q. Do you ship outside the United States?

A. Yes, I ship worldwide. *As of January 2014 I can no longer ship into Moscow Russia.

Q. How much is shipping & handling?

A. I ship Domestically by FedEx for $15.00 Ground, $30.00 2nd Day, and $60.00 Next Day. International Priority (3-5) Days for $60.00, and International First Class (2 weeks) for $15.00.

Q. Do you issue refunds on lenses

A.  No. All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges.

Due to the custom nature of my work and hand painted contacts being medical devices, Returns/Exchanges can not be accepted.

Q. Are your lenses FDA Cleared?

A. Yes.  I am FDA Cleared which all my procedures are documented and have been approved by the FDA. All my procedures and techniques are FDA Certified by the FDA with a 510k.
